Join us for an exciting weekend of workshops during the Copenhagen Burlesque Festival from November 15-17! We are thrilled to invite the stars of the show to lead a variety of engaging workshops designed to enhance your burlesque skills and creativity.
Workshop Description:
This workshop aims to give participants knowledge and inspiration to create captivating burlesque costumes through the exciting world of reveals! From quick-change hardware to temporary attachment techniques and pattern alterations, we will cover how to transform any garment into a reveal extravaganza! No sewing experience is needed.
For Who and How Many?
This workshop is for anyone who wants to incorporate reveals into their costume. While no sewing skills are necessary, a bit of craftiness is encouraged. There will be a maximum of 7 participants to ensure enough time for one-on-one questions.
What to Bring?
If you have a project in mind that needs a new reveal, feel free to bring it along!
Workshop Structure:
After a round of introductions, we will begin with a “show and tell,” exploring different hardware and techniques, alongside corresponding applications from Zizi's collection of costumes and props.
Instant Hardware: Snap buttons, Velcro, magnets, etc.
Temporary Attachments: Zippers, knots, hooks, buttons, etc.
Fastening Techniques: Hand sewing, glue, sewing tape, etc.
Textile: Basic guidance on which materials to use for different applications.
Covering: Techniques like fringes, appliqué, and rhinestones (focusing on covering the reveal).
Bio for Zizi Buffet:
French performer based in Sweden, Zizi Buffet is a magnificent mix of drag and burlesque. Sweet, salty, and spicy, she serves up something you’re definitely craving! Always delivering quirks and wit, you can never expect what comes next. No need for a side dish; Zizi is the main course. Bon appétit!
