Masterclass: Classic Parisian Cabaret Jazz with Thomas Mark

We’ll be working on technique and style, and discovering our inner showgirl/showboy. The Masterclass will start with a warm-up focusing on technique and what we’ll build on throughout the session. After that, we’ll work on diagonals across the floor (showgirl/showboy walks, battements, pirouettes). In the second half of the Masterclass, we’ll learn a choreography in classic Parisian cabaret style. All of this will be set to fantastic jazz/cabaret music. Feel free to bring your heels if you’d like.
About Thomas Mark
Thomas Mark is a trained dancer from "The Urdang Academy" in London. He has performed at the cabaret "La Nouvelle Eve" in Paris, at Det Ny Teater, Disneyland Paris, Benidorm Palace, on cruise ships, in shows in England, and on tour in Germany.
Become a Burlesque Star Vol. 4
Sweet Burlesque & LADy effulgent presents the ultimate burlesque training camp:
how to become a burlesque performer.
The final act of this course features you on stage as a solo burlesque artist - for a public audience in a real burlesque show!
We will make sure that you have everything you need - character, costume, story, music, act, stage presence, and practical essential tips like how to deal with a venue, and what to do backstage, to ensure that you become a sassy-yet-classy burlesque star. We will get into all the fine details of things you’ve never thought about (like which type of glue to use, or what to eat before a performance) to the big overall concept of your own burlesque persona.
The Burlesque training camp will run from January 2025 - June 2025.
Dates: Sunday 12th January, Sunday 23rd February, Sunday 23rd March, Sunday 13th April, Sunday 18th May, Friday 6th June & Saturday 7th June!
Each day will contain a five-hour studio workshop, followed by homework.
Time slot: 09-18:00
Friday 6th June: Rehearsal from 18:00-20:00
On June 7th 2025 we will also be hosting a show for the participants.
